CALL FOR SCIENTIFIC ABSTRACTS AND CASE REPORTS

ABSTRACT SUMBMISSION IS CLOSED

Deadline: October 21, 2019 (17:00, EST)

Content: subject matter related to all research and clinical (medical, surgical, interventional) aspects of chronic thromboembolic disease and CTEPH.  Case reports should preferably discuss unique aspects of the presentation, evaluation and management of patients with chronic thromboembolic disease, clinical “mimics”, and unexpected outcomes following the treatment of CTEPH patients.

Scientific Abstracts: should be organized as follows:
1)      Descriptive title, list of authors (presenting author indicated by an asterick*),
          institution(s), and contact information for submitting author
2)      Introduction, discussing rationale for study
3)      Methods
4)      Study Results  
5)      Conclusions  
             
Case Reports: case report abstracts should contain the following components:
1)      Descriptive title, list of authors (presenting author indicated by an asterick*),
          institution(s) and contact information for submitting author.
2)      Introduction
3)      Description of clinical case
4)      Discussion of the unique and important aspects of the reported case
 
Abstract Length and Language: the abstract must be submitted in English; the total word count of an abstract should not exceed 400 words (abstract body).  Title, authors’ information, tables, and figures/images are not included in the word count.
 
Disclosure: the presenting author AND supporting authors of each submitted abstract must complete an online Author Disclosure Form (see instructions below).
 
Research Funding Source: all abstracts must specify funding source, such as grant name, pharmaceutical support, or other funding source.  If there is no funding source, indicate “none”.
 
Abstract Publication: accepted abstracts will not be indexed; accepted abstracts will be presented at a poster session throughout UCSD CTEPH 2019 and a limited number of abstracts will be selected for presentation at two moderated sessions of the conference. All accepted abstracts will be published in the final conference program.
 
Submission Fee: none.  A discounted registration fee will be available to the presenting author of an accepted abstract or case report.

Please submit your completed abstract file by using the upload link below. Preferred file format is pdf, file upload size limit is 10MB.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Your contact information MUST be in the heading of your abstract.



UCSD REQUIRED DISCLOSURE FORM

The presenting author AND supporting authors of each submitted abstract must complete an Author Disclosure Form.

NEW USERS

  1. Go to http://cme.ucsd.edu/facultydisclosure/
  2. Log on under Complete New Form (For new users only!)
  3. Complete the Presenter/Author Information
  4. Select “CTEPH Symposium 2019, 11/15/19-11/16/19” from the Activity list drop down menu
  5. Type in your Topic
  6. Select yes/no to having any personal financial relationship in the last 12 months
  7. Type in each Company name & Relationship
  8. Repeat Steps 4-6 for however many topics that you have
  9. Then click Done – Log off

RETURNING USERS

  1. Go to http://cme.ucsd.edu/facultydisclosure/
  2. Log on under Update Existing Form (For returning users…)
  3. From there select “Add a new topic”
  4. Select “CTEPH Symposium 2019, 11/15/19-11/16/19” from the Activity list drop down menu
  5. Type in your Topic
  6. Select yes/no to having any personal financial relationship in the last 12 months
  7. Type in each Company name & Relationship
  8. Repeat Steps 3-6 for however many topics that you have
  9. Then click Done – Log off
